These vineyards mainly enjoy a south-west exposure and are distinguished by the variety of their soils: in Chianti Classico they are characterized by rocky and calcareous soils, while along the border with the Crete Senesi they are predominantly rich in sand, silt, small pebbles and marine sediments. Fontalloro saw the light for the first time in 1983. It has a ruby ​​red color of good intensity and tonal richness. Its aromatic characteristics are complex, with evident notes of tobacco, wet earth and a subtle suggestion of earth dust, accompanied by hints of blackcurrant, blackberry and licorice. On the palate, it is distinguished by a well-balanced tannicity and a medium soft consistency of the tannins.
