Although Rabaja-Bas is a northern extension of the renowned Rabaja vineyard, the two parcels are separated by Muncagota and do not touch. Rabaja-Bas is less well known as few producers grow their own grapes there; most of the property is owned by Castello di Verduno, which was the only one to put the Rabaja-Bas name on the label. With a relatively cool mesoclimate, the resulting wine is elegant and fresh, with old vines adding depth of flavor and aroma. It has a bright orange-red color and aromas of camphor, mint, balsamic notes, truffle, roses and dried herbs.
