The Chardonnay grapes benefit from a south-east exposure and shallow soils that require occasional organic amendments. In 2000, the climate was marked by high temperatures, the highest average since 1956. The mild and dry winter without snow, followed by a spring with hailstorms and a summer alternating between incessant rain and hot days, put the vines to the test, with risks of downy mildew and botrytis.
