    Meursault “Perrieres” – 2015 – Domaine Yves Boyer-Martenot

    Label: Perfect
    Caps: Perfect
    Level: 0,6 cm
    Color: Perfect

The vines and soil of Yves Boyer-Martenot give the wine its great quality which is why it is so important to manage them with both respect and care. To ensure that the wine produced is of high quality, traditional methods are used involving little or no product, soil cultivation, crop care, green harvest, and hand picking. Using these old fashioned methods and less machinery allows for our wines to develop naturally. The wine production and aging process is done in 100% oak barrels (1/3 new oak each year) over 12 months, where once a week the wine is stirred or refilled if necessary. In June each appellation is put in a tank for two months ready to be filtered and bottled by us.

Bourgogne is world famous for its white wines from Chardonnay grapes and reds from Pinot Noir, native vines of this region, wines that have always been considered as models of reference for other regions where wines with the same grapes are produced. Burgundy is located in the central-eastern part of France and is one of the northernmost places in the world where red wines are produced. Both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir produce the best results in cool climates such as that of Burgundy and it is for this reason that the quality level achieved here remains unmatched today. On the other hand, latitude also has disadvantages: climatic adversities can lead to unfavorable vintages to obtain wines with not always optimal taste-olfactory profiles. Burgundy wines therefore tend to be different depending on the vintage, which makes the variety and complexity of this region even more intriguing.

In addition to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Aligoté is also grown in Burgundy (a white grape from Mâconnais used to produce widely consumed wines and sometimes present in Crémant de Bourgogne) and Gamay, the famous red grape with which they are produced the wines of Beaujolais.
