    Tenuta del Monsignore has its business center on a gentle hill overlooking the sea. It covers an area of about 135 hectares, of which about 85 are vineyards. The cellar is adjacent to the manor house which still incorporates the remains of the old cellar from the first half of the 1800s. The current structure is an example of a combination of tradition and advanced technology. “La Levata” in 3-liter Jéroboam format. It is packaged manually in all its parts: capsule, bishop’s tassels and labeling.

This technique allows us to hang the bunches vertically within our stunning vinsantaia, thus beginning the natural drying process. Trebbiano is used in addition to a small selection of Sangiovese and Malvasia. After the drying, vinification takes place in partially filled caratelli and is followed by a very long aging period before the golden nectar is ready to be tasted.

Tuscany is undoubtedly one of the most important Italian wine regions thanks to its famous internationally renowned labels. A real jewel of world enology, with an extraordinary variety of wines with different characteristics and a millenary history that is lost over the centuries.

The typical Tuscan landscape alone tells of the strong wine-growing vocation of the area: kilometers and kilometers of splendid rows that stretch over the hills of Chianti and the Etruscan Coast or immersed in postcard views of the Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana.

It is a heritage of eleven denominations of controlled and guaranteed origin (DOCG), forty-one denominations of controlled origin (DOC) and six typical geographical indications (IGT).

We cannot talk about Tuscan enology – but not even world-wide – without thinking of Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Chianti Classico and Supertuscan, produced in the Bolgheri area.

The undisputed soul of the region’s red wines is Sangiovese, present in almost all DOC wines. A red grape of great quality and character, but not easy to cultivate, which gives very different results depending on the microclimate and the soil where it is grown.
