Canon-Frosac is an appellation extended over an area of 280 hectares of vineyards, located at the confluence of the Isle and the Dordogne. We find ourselves near Saint Emilion with an exceptional terroir that owes its typicality to the molasse du Fronsadais, limestone and clay-limestone soils located on plateaus and hills while at the foot of the slopes they are clayey-siliceous in nature. Blend made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot which gives the predominant imprint, this grape is also the most cultivated in the area, accounting for 80% of the variety assortment. The 1994 vintage was very good until a few days before the harvest, where the ripe grapes were bathed by copious rains. This wine is generous, evolved with a tannin softened by time. On the nose you can perceive the strawberry and notable notes of spices with a hint of truffle. In the mouth it is round, fine with a beautiful structure, it reveals an elegance and a richness that only Merlot in certain areas can express.
