Mastrojanni, an acclaimed Tuscan wine estate in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, Montalcino, celebrates Sangiovese with distinctive wines. Founded in 1975 by Gabriele Mastrojanni, its San Pio and Loreto estates now cover 96 hectares, of which 33 are dedicated to vineyards. With an altitude ranging from 150 to 420 meters above sea level, the vineyards enjoy optimal aspects in all directions. In addition to the renowned Brunello, the range includes single-vineyard cuvées and Rosso di Montalcino. The cellar, an integral part of the estate, uses concrete tanks and wooden vats for fermentation and aging. Estate 2012: long and generous summer, without intrusive peaks in temperature, is reflected in the aromas of plum and small forest fruits. Notes of spices and dried medicinal herbs join them with hints of coffee. An enveloping mouth of great elegance, the result of clean and ripe tannins, which lead to a savoury and enveloping finish.
