Ferrari is an award-winning sparkling wine house in the Trentino region of northern Italy. It produces Metodo Classico wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir under the Trento DOC label.
The company was founded in 1902 by Giulio Ferrari, with the intention of taking on the best wines of Champagne. In this way, Ferrari became one of the first Italian companies to make substantial plantings of Chardonnay. Giulio Ferrari had no children, so in the 1950s he passed the company to Bruno Lunelli, owner of a wine shop in Trento. In the following decades, Lunelli increased production from 9,000 bottles per year to 100,000. Today the company is managed by the third generation of the Lunelli family.
