Morellino di Scansano "Mentor" - 2016 - Mantellasi Farm
This Morellino di Scansano usually subjugated by more famous names has been awarded numerous prizes in the last decade and 2016 in particular is among the wines with a score higher than 90 points in “The best wines of Italy” by Luca Maroni. Produced with 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cilegiolo on a hilly terrain formed by calcareous tuff. The color is ruby red with purple tendencies. On the nose it is very fine with immediate hints of vanilla. On the palate the tannin is soft but decidedly warm and enveloping.
