Bodegas Toro Albalá is a wine producer located in the Montilla-Moriles region of Andalusia, Spain. Founded in 1922 by José María Toro Albalá, the winery traces its roots back to 1844 with the first estate started by Albalá’s grandfather. It was the first to market Pedro Ximénez as a single varietal wine. Relocated in 1922 to the region’s first power plant, it continues to inspire label design. In the 1980s, Antonio Sánchez Romero acquired the winery, reserving oak barrels for vinegar and also selling Arrope syrup. With two main locations, in Moriles and Aguilar de la Frontera, Toro Albalá produces Pedro Ximénez aged up to 25 years, using techniques that allow for alcohol levels above 15% without fortification.
