Amarone "Monte Masua" is an expression of the terroir of the eponymous vineyard, characterized by an ideal location that favors the production of high-quality grapes. The 2012 vintage is considered an exceptional one for Amarone, with opulent wines, high extract, and excellent aging potential.
Blend: Produced with the traditional blend of Valpolicella grapes: 70% Corvina Veronese, 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara.
The grapes are dried for around 5 months in a drying room, a longer period than average, and the wine is then aged for 3 years in 35-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels.
It has a very intense ruby red color. On the nose, it releases intense and clean aromas of black cherry, ripe cherry, and berries, followed by fresh and slightly spicy notes. On the palate, it is dry yet soft, enveloping, and beautifully balanced, thanks to the excellent balance between acidity and tannins. The tannic texture is very pleasant, and the finish is long and persistent, with light hints of red fruit.
It is an elegant and smooth wine, which can be enjoyed at the table without being oppressive, as underlined by some experts, and pairs perfectly with braised meats, game, grilled meats and mature cheeses.
