Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is one of the most famous and appreciated Italian wines in the world. Made exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, it is produced in the Montalcino area, at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea level, on medium-textured soils with a significant presence of skeleton. This wine stands out for its extraordinary elegance and concentration. During vinification, the grapes are destemmed, pressed and fermented with long contact between skins and must for about 30 days. Aging takes place in Slavonian oak barrels for a period of up to 36 months, with a part in French oak barriques. The wine is refined in the bottle for at least 8 months before being released for sale. Brunello di Montalcino has a bright ruby red color, tending towards garnet with aging. Its bouquet is broad and complex, with notes of cherry, plum and spices, while on the palate it is full-bodied, with a lively acidity and a long and fresh aftertaste. It is ideal to pair with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
