Cakebread Cellars, in the Rutherford AVA of Napa Valley, is one of California’s best-known family-owned producers. It is best known for its Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines and is a popular feature on U.S. restaurant wine lists. Founded in 1973 by Jack and Dolores Cakebread, it expanded in 1982 through the purchase of adjacent land. Cakebread now has 15 estate vineyards and has not grown since 2005. The winery produces approximately 175,000 cases annually.
