Chardonnay - 2006 - Alois Lageder
The Chardonnay grape variety was introduced to Alto Adige in 1835 on the initiative of Archduke John of Habsburg and subsequently promoted by the founder of the first Italian oenological technical institute, who encouraged its spread. Initially known as "yellow" Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay was rediscovered in the 1980s by Alto Adige winemakers. Our grapes come from vineyards located in Magrè, Cortaccia, Salorno and Pochi, where the calcareous soils rich in pebbles offer ideal growing conditions for this grape variety.
