The Villa Montepaldi farm in the municipality of San Casciano Val di Pesa, in Tuscany, has belonged to the University of Florence since 1989. As an estate, Villa Montepaldi has a history of almost a thousand years: from the Monastery of Passignano it passed into the hands of noble Florentine families, including the Acciaioli, the Medici, the Corsini. It has always been a model farm dedicated to the production of wine, wheat and oil.
Today, academic research and teaching activities merge with production. In fact, production is managed in all respects as a commercial activity and has a range of traditional and innovative Tuscan wine labels under its belt. Villa Montepaldi boasts in-depth knowledge of the territory, which falls within the scope of the Chianti Classico denomination.
