Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Le Balze" - 2019 - Il Poggiolino
Produced only in exceptional years, selecting the best bunches of Sangiovese and Colorino, this wine ferments in stainless steel tanks, with a longer maceration on the skins than Chianti Classico, which requires at least 12 months of aging. After fermentation, the wine ages in barriques for about 30 months. After bottling, it is refined in the bottle for a further three months before being released on the market. The result of this process is a fruity and spicy wine, with an enveloping structure and an elegant balance between tannins and acidity, which give great depth and longevity to the product.
