This property has earned legendary status in the Roussillon region. The schist, clay and marl soil allows the vines to grow very deep roots, which gives the wines added complexity. The vines are planted on areas of sedimentary limestone to the north and schist to the south that exist in overlapping vertical layers. Resolute in their respect for the environment, Gérard Gauby and his son Lionel have long since stopped using chemical treatments, replacing insecticides and weed control products with "homemade" blends of essential oils and compost. Their focus is on the elegance and freshness of the wines, and the path they have chosen seems to be a winning one.
