Castillo Clavijo Gran Reserva is a Rioja wine with great character, composed of 90% Tempranillo, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo. The grapes come from selected vineyards of young vines, with an average age of over 30 years, located in the heart of Rioja, in the municipalities of Clavijo, Alberite and Villamediana, planted at higher altitudes to preserve the freshness and fruity character of the varieties. The harvest is manual, taking place in mid-September. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26 ° C. The wine is then aged for at least 24 months in American and French oak barrels, followed by 36 months of bottle aging. On the palate it presents itself as a Rioja with a classic flavor, velvety, spicy and elegant, with intense aromas of ripe fruit, mineral notes, vanilla, tobacco and cedar wood. It is a wine that embodies all the greatness of Rioja, ideal for special occasions and to accompany important conversations.
