Barolo "Cannubi" - 2020 - Marchesi di Barolo
Cannubi is a central hill in the Barolo area, where the Serravallian and Tortonian soils meet, forming bluish-grey marls rich in magnesium and manganese carbonates. These soils, known as Marne di Sant'Agata fossili (or Toû in jargon), are composed of clay (55%), very fine sand (30%) and limestone (15%). Protected by the surrounding hills, Cannubi enjoys a unique microclimate that favors the cultivation of Nebbiolo. The wine produced has a ruby red color with garnet reflections and an intense aroma of rose, vanilla, spices and toasted oak, with hints of absinthe. On the palate it is full, elegant and austere, with soft tannins and a pleasant fusion of spicy and woody notes.
