Fattoria dei Barbi is a Tuscan wine producer based in Montalcino. The estate extends from Montalcino to Scansano, covering approximately 80 hectares of vineyards. These are located on the south-facing side of the hill, where the calcareous soils provide a good portion for the Sangiovese that is planted. This 1991 Brunello is an intense ruby red in color . On the nose it offers strong aromas of fruits such as plum and black cherry, enriched by delicate notes reminiscent of almond, green pepper and tobacco. On the palate it is warm, soft, with tannins well balanced by acidity. Aftertaste of good length with pleasant fruity persistence.
