The Gaudrie family, winemakers in Fronsac for seven generations at Château Villars, perpetuates the traditional know-how of growing vines. The wines of Château Villars owe their personality to the clay and limestone soils. While the clay gives them strength and depth, the limestone does a great job of regulating the water supply available to the vine. This is the flagship wine, aged 100% in French oak barrels. 20 hectares of vineyards, consisting of the oldest vines on the estate, are dedicated to its production. Despite these climatic changes, the wines are of remarkable balance, of a very beautiful richness, without excess, and replaced by tannins of great sweetness.
