Der Barolo wird hauptsächlich aus der Rebsorte Nebbiolo hergestellt und kann als einer der größten italienischen Weine angesehen werden. Im selben Gebiet findet man zwei Stile von Barolo. Auf der einen Seite die modernen Barolos, fruchtig, weich und mit Tanninen, die durch die Reifung in neuen Fässern ausgereift sind; auf der anderen Seite die klassischen Barolos, dicht und tanninhaltig und oft durch verzögerte Abfüllung getrocknet. Im Allgemeinen zeichnen sich Barolos durch eine sehr dunkle Farbe und eine bemerkenswerte aromatische Komplexität aus. Diese raffinierten und eleganten Weine zeichnen sich durch rauchige Noten von cremiger Vanille und Tabak aus.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
