Château Haut-Bages Libéral, 1855 als Cinquième Grand Cru klassifiziert, liegt in der Nähe der prestigeträchtigen Châteaux Latour und Pichon und verfügt über ein herrliches Terroir, das von Alain Surtre und Eric Boissenot bewirtschaftet wird. Die Weinberge werden biodynamisch bewirtschaftet und die Trauben werden vorzugsweise von Hand geerntet, um die Frucht zu erhalten. Die Trauben werden vor der Weinbereitung selektiert und mazeriert, die in inerten Behältern stattfindet, um zu verhindern, dass der Wein zu holzige Aromen annimmt. Der Prozess erfolgt dann in thermoregulierten Edelstahltanks und der Wein reift in Eichenfässern, von denen etwa 40 % neu sind. Die Dauer der Reifung hängt vom Jahrgang ab und variiert zwischen 12 und 18 Monaten.

Bei der Verkostung entdecken wir einen intensiven und dunklen Wein mit einem besonders reichen Bouquet. Wir werden Noten von schwarzen Früchten und Pflaumen wahrnehmen, die eine vollmundige und tanninhaltige Struktur einleiten. Dieser ideale Wein zum Altern offenbart die Kompetenz der Produzenten im Weinbau und in der Weinbereitung sowie das große Prestige des Terroirs.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
