Amarone della Valpolicella from Tenuta Masi is a historic wine of great renown, an authentic expression of Verona’s winemaking tradition and the ancient appassimento technique. Produced at a time when winemaking was still largely artisanal, it represents one of the classic Amarones that have contributed to Valpolicella’s international fame.

With an intense garnet color and amber highlights resulting from its long aging, it offers a complex and well-developed bouquet with notes of cherries preserved in alcohol, prunes, figs, tobacco, leather, cocoa, sweet spices, and subtle balsamic notes. On the palate, it is warm, rich, and velvety, with substantial structure, soft tannins, and a long, aromatic finish characterized by dried fruit, spicy notes, and hints of fine wood.

The historic vintages of this long-lived Amarone are capable of retaining their balance and complexity even after many decades. Bottles from Tenuta Masi dating from this period are now highly sought after by collectors and lovers of vintage wines, both for their historical value and for the allure of their long aging.
