Tenuta Masi’s Amarone della Valpolicella is a historic wine of great prestige, an authentic expression of the Venetian winemaking tradition and the ancient appassimento technique. It was produced at a time when winemaking was still largely artisanal, and is one of the classic Amarones that have contributed to Valpolicella’s international fame.

With its intense garnet-red color and amber highlights—the result of its long aging—it offers a complex and well-developed bouquet with notes of pickled cherries, dried plums, figs, tobacco, leather, cocoa, sweet spices, and subtle balsamic notes. On the palate, it is warm, rich, and velvety, with substantial structure, already soft tannins, and a long, aromatic finish characterized by dried fruits, spicy notes, and hints of fine wood.

Historic vintages of Amarone that have undergone long aging are capable of retaining their balance and complexity even after many decades. Bottles from Tenuta Masi dating from this period are now particularly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs of old wines, both for their historical value and for the allure of long-aged wines.
