Der Barolo 1964 der Fratelli Bertelletti ist nicht nur ein Wein: Er ist eine Zeitreise durch die Hügel des Piemont, bei der jeder Schluck von vergangenen Ernten, von erfahrenen Händen und von einem Jahrgang erzählt, der dem Lauf der Jahre mit Eleganz widerstanden hat. Im Glas präsentiert er sich mit einer altgranatroten Farbe, die am Rand ins Orange changiert, ein Zeichen der langen Entwicklung. In der Nase vermischen sich Noten von reifen Früchten schwarze Kirschen und getrocknete Pflaumen mit erdigen Nuancen von Trüffel und Unterholz, mit einem zarten Hauch von Tabak und Leder, Zeichen einer langsamen und edlen Reifung. Im Mund ist er überraschend harmonisch: Die inzwischen samtigen Tannine stützen einen vollen und komplexen Körper, mit Anklängen von süßen Gewürzen, Kakao und einem leichten Hauch von Vanille. Der Abgang ist sehr lang und umhüllend, als hätte die Zeit selbst jeden Tropfen gepflegt.
