Der Barolo 2018 von Tomaso Gianolio ist ein Rotwein aus reinen Nebbiolo-Trauben, der einen klassischen Langa-Stil mit einer guten Kombination aus Struktur und Trinkbarkeit ausdrückt. Im Glas präsentiert er sich mit einer granatroten Farbe, die sich mit der Entwicklung ins Orange neigt. In der Nase bietet er ein intensives und recht komplexes Profil mit Noten von kleinen roten Früchten, Gewürzen, Tabak und leichten Vanille- und Rauchakzenten, die auf den Holzausbau zurückzuführen sind. Am Gaumen ist er strukturiert, aber ausgewogen, mit einer deutlichen, aber nicht aggressiven Tanninstruktur, die von einer guten Säure unterstützt wird, die den Schluck lebendig und harmonisch hält. Der Abgang ist anhaltend mit würzigen und eleganten Rückmeldungen. Der Jahrgang 2018 gilt als frischer und weniger kräftig als andere und hat Weine hervorgebracht, die im Allgemeinen zugänglicher und relativ schnell trinkreif sind.
