Der Barolo Cerretta 2017 von Ettore Germano ist ein Rotwein von großem Charakter, der aus Nebbiolo-Trauben vom Cru Cerretta in Serralunga d'Alba gewonnen wird, einem der strukturiertesten und langlebigsten Gebiete der Appellation. Im Glas präsentiert er sich mit einer intensiven granatroten Farbe mit bereits sichtbaren orangefarbenen Reflexen, ein Zeichen der typischen Entwicklung der Rebsorte. In der Nase ist er komplex und tiefgründig mit Düften von verwelkter Rose, reifen roten Früchten, Pflaume, süßen Gewürzen, Tabak, Leder, Lakritz und leichten balsamischen und mineralischen Noten. Am Gaumen ist er voll und umhüllend mit einer wichtigen Struktur, noch präsenten, aber dank des Holzausbaus bereits gut integrierten Tanninen und einer Frische, die den Schluck unterstützt und ihn ausgewogen und dynamisch macht. Der Abgang ist lang und anhaltend mit würzigen und erdigen Rückkehrnoten. Der Jahrgang 2017 war warm und hat kräftige und konzentrierte Baroli hervorgebracht, die aber in ihrer Jugend bereits ausdrucksstark sind. Es wird empfohlen, ihn bei 16-18 Grad mit einer Dekantierzeit von mindestens einer Stunde zu servieren. Er passt perfekt zu kräftigem rotem Fleisch, Schmorbraten, Wild und gereiftem Käse und ist insgesamt ein strukturierter, tiefgründiger Barolo mit starker Persönlichkeit und ausgezeichnetem Alterungspotenzial.
