Banfi stellt diesen Brunello di Montalcino DOCG her, indem er die besten Sangiovese-Trauben aus den 170 Hektar eigenen Weinbergen auswählt. Die Trauben wachsen im Hügelland südlich von Montalcino, in Weinbergen, die auf einer Höhe von etwa 220 Metern liegen und deren Wurzeln in sandigen und kalkhaltigen Böden mit viel Skelettgestein verankert sind. Nach der Ankunft in den Weinkellern gären die Trauben alkoholisch und mazerieren etwa 10-12 Tage lang sowohl in Stahl als auch in Holz. Es folgt die Reifungsphase, die 24 Monate lang sowohl in Eichenfässern mit einem Fassungsvermögen von 60-90 Hektolitern als auch in französischen Eichenbarriques stattfindet. Der Brunello di Montalcino von Banfi präsentiert sich dem Auge mit einer tiefen und kompakten rubinroten Farbe, die am Rand leicht ins Granatrot tendiert. Die dominanten Aromen in der Nase zeichnen sich durch Fülle aus und konzentrieren sich auf Noten von roten Früchten, abwechselnd mit süßen Gewürzen und ätherischen Nuancen. Am Gaumen ist er vollmundig, rund, mit einem samtigen Schluck, der den Gaumen mit intensiven Geschmacksrichtungen umhüllt; er endet mit einem sehr anhaltenden Abgang. Ein Etikett, das einen der großen Klassiker des Weinguts darstellt, wo Tradition und Moderne perfekt miteinander verschmelzen.
