Als ikonisches und eigenständiges Cru ist "Campo del Drago" der höchste Ausdruck des Sangiovese von Castiglion del Bosco, der von einem historischen Weinberg in den oberen Hügeln stammt. In der Nase ist er tief und vielschichtig, mit reifen Kirschen und Sauerkirschen, dunklen Früchten, Veilchen, süßen Gewürzen, balsamischen Noten und einem mineralischen Anklang. Im Mund ist er kraftvoll, aber ausgewogen, mit einer soliden Struktur, dichten und sehr feinen Tanninen und einer Frische, die dem Schluck Schwung und Präzision verleiht. Der Abgang ist lang, pikant und anhaltend, mit einer Eleganz, die mehr aus der Definition als aus der Kraft entsteht. Ein Brunello von großer Persönlichkeit, schon heute faszinierend, aber eindeutig für eine lange Entwicklung gemacht.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
