Der Brunello di Montalcino „Filo di Seta“ 2021 von Castello Romitorio ist ein Brunello mit Persönlichkeit und Charakter: Er entsteht aus 100% Sangiovese, der sorgfältig im nordwestlichen Teil der Hügel von Montalcino angebaut wird, in einem besonderen Weinberg, der dem Wein eine eigene Stimme verleiht. Der Name „Filo di Seta“ (Seidenfaden) stammt von einem Bach, der in der Nähe der Rebzeilen fließt, und ist auch ein Ausdruck dafür, dass hier die Webart des Weines zwischen Frucht, Struktur und Säure fein und ausgewogen ist. Im Glas zeigt er sich in einem leuchtenden, brillanten Rubinrot. In der Nase entfalten sich intensive Düfte von roten Früchten (Kirsche, Walderdbeere) zusammen mit Veilchen, Rosen und zarten Gewürzen, mit leichten erdigen und balsamischen Nuancen, die das Terroir widerspiegeln.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
