Der Brunello di Montalcino „Il Quercione“ Riserva 2021 von Campogiovanni ist der intensivste und tiefgründigste Ausdruck des Sangiovese dieses Weinguts: Er entsteht aus einer Auswahl von Trauben des gleichnamigen Weinbergs, reift lange in französischen Tonneaux und anschließend in der Flasche, bevor er auf den Markt kommt. Er ist von einem sehr tiefen Rubinrot, mit durchdringenden Aromen von reifen Waldfrüchten, Gewürzen, Kakao und Leder, und präsentiert sich am Gaumen voll, strukturiert, mit robusten Tanninen und lebendiger Frische. Der Abgang ist lang und würzig, mit jener Salzigkeit, die den Appetit anregt. Ein Brunello von großer Klasse und Langlebigkeit, ideal zu Wild, kräftigen Fleischgerichten, Pilzen, Trüffeln und reifem Käse.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
