In der Klassifizierung von 1855 wurde Château Beychevelle als 4ème Grand Cru eingestuft und würde es wieder tun, gäbe es eine neue Klassifizierung. Mit mehr als 70 Hektar in der berühmten Appellation Saint-Julien ist Château Beychevelle zu einem Maßstab am linken Ufer geworden. Die Assemblage besteht zu 47 % aus Cabernet Sauvignon und Merlot, der Rest aus Cabernet Franc und Petit Verdot. In den Weinbergen und im Keller wird eine sorgfältige Auswahl getroffen, um nur die besten Trauben zu erhalten. Der Wein ist elegant, ausgewogen und tanninreich, und die Aromen von Früchten und Gewürzen sind von unglaublicher Finesse. Diese Weine sind gut strukturiert und ideal für eine lange Lagerung. I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
