Château Cantenac Brown wurde 1855 während der offiziellen Klassifizierung für die Weltausstellung in Paris als Terzo Grand Cru Classé eingestuft.

Das Weingut befindet sich seit 2019 im Besitz der Familie Le Lous und ist auf 60 Hektar mit 65 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 % Merlot und 5 % Cabernet Franc bepflanzt, auf wunderschönen Kiesböden, die für die Produktion großer Weine günstig sind. Die Weine reifen 16 Monate in französischen Eichenfässern, davon 60 % neue Fässer. Ein Zweitwein, der Brio de Cantenac Brown, wird produziert.

Das Weingut engagiert sich stark für den Umweltschutz und baut derzeit eine neue, umweltfreundliche und vollständig aus Lehm bestehende Kellerei. Sie wird zur Ernte 2023 fertiggestellt sein.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
