Château Guiraud wurde 1855 zum Premier Grand Cru Classé befördert und wird aus den besten Terroirs von Sauternes hergestellt. Die Assemblage besteht aus Sémillon (65%) und Sauvignon (35%), die seit 2011 nach den Prinzipien des ökologischen Landbaus angebaut werden. Die Reben wachsen auf kiesigen Böden, die charakteristisch für das linke Ufer von Bordeaux sind. Die Trauben werden sorgfältig geerntet und selektiert, um nur jene zu erhalten, die von der berühmten Edelfäule befallen sind, die für die Herstellung der süßen Bordeaux-Weine unerlässlich ist.

Der Stil von Château Guiraud ist brillant: mit einem guten Alkoholgehalt, sehr aromatisch und perfekt ausgewogen. In seiner Jugend entwickelt er Aromen von tropischen Früchten und Zitrusfrüchten, während er mit der Zeit charakteristische Noten von Safran und Bitterorangenmarmelade offenbart. Ein hervorragender Wein, der elegant altert.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
