Der Weinberg von Château Grand-Puy Lacoste mit seinem kiesigen Boden ist insofern einzigartig, als er keinen Cabernet Franc enthält. Die Weine des Weinguts zeigen eine große Eignung zur Alterung. Farbintensiv, tanninhaltig, reichhaltig und vollmundig, gelten sie als Vertreter des klassischen Pauillac. In großen Jahrgängen können sie mit den größten Weinen des Médoc mithalten.

Château Grand-Puy Lacoste liegt auf dem Bages-Plateau in Pauillac und entstand aus der Aufteilung des riesigen Grand-Puy-Anwesens, aus dem im 18. Jahrhundert die Châteaux Lynch-Bages und Grand Puy Ducasse hervorgingen. Nachdem Grand-Puy Lacoste 1855 als Fünfter Grand Cru Classé eingestuft wurde, wurde es von François-Xavier Borie auf das gleiche Niveau der besten Weingüter von Pauillac gebracht. Der Zweitwein des Weinguts ist der Lacoste-Borie.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
