The 1975 Château Lambert Fronsac is a red wine from the Fronsac appellation in the Bordeaux region, an expression of a traditional style based primarily on Merlot with possible additions of Cabernet Franc, and today it is a wine with great aging potential; The 1975 vintage in Bordeaux was characterized by wines that were very tannic and structured in their youth, intended for very long aging, and after decades, this wine presents a very ripe garnet color with orange and brick-red highlights, while the nose offers a complex and delicate bouquet with notes of now-ripe red fruits, prunes, figs, accompanied by tertiary notes of leather, tobacco, underbrush, dried mushrooms, and light spicy nuances; on the palate, it is soft and subtle, with fully integrated tannins, a now delicate structure, and a balance that depends heavily on its condition after aging, featuring an elegant but not particularly long finish marked by earthy and oxidative notes; and precisely because of its age, it pairs better with dishes that aren’t overly structured, such as light roasts, poultry, mushroom dishes, and mature but not overly intense cheeses; it offers an experience associated more with finesse and evolving complexity than with power.

I ordered three bottles: a 1999 French wine that I opened recently—it was a huge hit.
The other two were a Barolo Serralunga d’Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d’Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015. I haven’t opened them yet, but they look very promising.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent; the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and stuck out, but I managed to protect it anyway.
Great prices that you won’t find on other similar sites.
