Der Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 1997 von Domaine Henri Clerc & Fils ist ein Rotwein von großem Prestige, der aus einer der ikonischsten Parzellen der Côte de Nuits im Burgund stammt. Eine für den Jahrgang 1997 typische glycerische Weichheit umhüllt den Gaumen und gleicht die natürliche Strenge des Terroirs von Vougeot aus. Der Abgang ist lang und würzig, mit einer Rückkehr von eingelegten Früchten und edlem Leder, die seine volle expressive Reife bestätigt. Es ist ein Burgunder von großem Charakter, der seinen idealen Begleiter in Wildgerichten wie Entenbrust à l'orange oder Hirschfilet mit Heidelbeeren findet, wo die wilden Noten des Fleisches mit den tertiären Aromen des Weines harmonieren, während die restliche Säure den Gaumen von der Fettigkeit des Gerichts reinigt. Auch hervorragend zu gereiftem französischem Käse wie Epoisses, der die aromatische Intensität eines so entwickelten Grand Cru standhält.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
