Die zu 99 % der Rotweinproduktion gewidmete Appellation Corton kann stolz darauf sein, der einzige rote Grand Cru der Côte de Beaune zu sein. Auf den Hängen des Corton-Hügels bildet der lehmig-kreidige Boden, der reich an Mergel ist, ein exzellentes Terroir, aus dem die Weine ihre edlen Eigenschaften beziehen. Dicht, verschlossen und sehr tanninhaltig in der Jugend, können sie so manchen Liebhaber verwirren: Wenn man jedoch sieben oder acht Jahre wartet, ermöglicht die Reifung im Keller, wunderbare Aromen von roten Früchten, Gewürzen, Lakritz und animalischen Noten zu schätzen, kombiniert mit ihrem unvergleichlichen Reichtum. Gut strukturiert, offenbaren sie eine schöne Säure und eine große Nachhaltigkeit. Zusammen mit den Weinen von Pommard gehören die Corton-Weine sicherlich zu den Weinen der Côte de Beaune, die das beste Alterungspotenzial besitzen, zwischen 20 und 40 Jahren je nach Jahrgang.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
