Das Weingut wurde um die frühen 1900er Jahre von Marquis Incisa della Rocchetta gegründet, der von Anfang an den Wunsch und den Traum hatte, die Weine der Maremma-Region und damit von Bolgheri zu produzieren und der Welt bekannt zu machen. Das Unternehmen, das seinen Namen von San Guido della Gherardesca hat, wurde in den frühen 1940er Jahren berühmt, als die Entscheidung getroffen wurde, Weine aus Rebsorten der Bordeaux-Schnittart wie Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot und Merlot anzupflanzen und zu produzieren. I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
