The Marchesi di Barolo 2020 Barbaresco is an elegant and refined red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. It offers a more refined and approachable style than Barolo while retaining great complexity. In the glass, it displays a brilliant garnet-red color that will evolve to reveal orange hues; on the nose, it is intense and ethereal with typical aromas of wild rose, tobacco, spices, and light notes of tar, along with hints of small red berries; on the palate, it is harmonious and balanced with a substantial yet not excessive structure, well-defined but already quite elegant tannins, and a good freshness that makes it easy to drink; the finish is long and persistent with spicy and floral notes; The 2020 vintage is considered consistent and well-balanced, producing elegant wines with good structure that are already enjoyable even in their relative youth
It is best served at around 18°C, perhaps after a brief aeration, and pairs very well with Piedmontese appetizers, hearty first courses such as agnolotti, roasted or braised red meats, and aged cheeses. Its tannic structure and aromatic complexity particularly enhance rich, full-bodied dishes.
