"Rinaldi Maior" is Villa Rinaldi's flagship Amarone, renowned for its balance of ancient winemaking art and contemporary style. The 2008 vintage blend is composed of 70% Corvina, 15% Rondinella, 10% Pinot Noir, and 5% Merlot. The grapes are harvested and subjected to a long drying process, which concentrates sugars and aromas. The wine then ages for approximately 30 months in Massif Central French oak barrels and for an additional 6 months in bottle before release.
It features a ruby red color that shifts toward garnet with age. The nose is luxurious and majestic, with exuberant notes of black cherries, black cherries, and plum jam, followed by elegant hints of gianduja, blond tobacco leaf, and incense. On the palate, the structure is vibrant and luxurious, with great concentration balanced by a savory and fresh kick that makes the finish long and enveloping.
It is an ideal wine for meditation, aged cheeses, important red meats and game.
