Cru Faset is one of the most renowned areas of Barbaresco, historically belonging to the Counts Cocito of Neive and now divided between different owners. Located in a steep valley facing south, with the western side sloping towards the Tanaro river, the vineyard extends for about 3 hectares in the Cabanet farmhouse. The soils rich in calcium and magnesium give the wines silky tannins and a distinctive elegance. Part of the UNESCO site "Vineyard Landscapes of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato", the wine has a ruby ​​garnet red color, aroma of dried rose petals, red fruits and fine spices. On the palate it is structured, elegant, with very fine tannins and a marked minerality.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
