The secret to the success of the Fratelli Berlucchi Winery lies in the perfect harmony between Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto, and Pia Donata. The winery boasts a total vineyard area of nearly 70 hectares, all certified under DOC and DOCG designations, and benefits from the extensive expertise of winemaker Cesare Ferrari, who has served as the winery’s technical director for over thirty years.

All of this creates an environment that gives rise to Franciacortas of great character, charm, and precision, whose secret lies in the long aging process that defines them. Producing Franciacorta, in fact, requires a very long time: about seven months after the harvest, the base wine is inoculated with yeast and bottled to initiate a second fermentation, which lasts for about two months. At least 18 months (30 or more for vintage wines) of rest in the bottle on its own lees must then pass before any Franciacorta can undergo disgorgement and the subsequent dosage. In the case of the “Fratelli Berlucchi” winery, all these timeframes are extended—sometimes significantly—in order to achieve for each cuvée that elegance which is the true hallmark of the company based in Borgonato, a small hamlet of Corte Franca in the province of Brescia.
