Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé owes its worldwide fame to the legendary Grand Cru Musigny, of which it is the principal owner. In addition to the vineyards located in the Chambolle-Musigny AOC and at Bonnes Mares, the estate owns 70% of the total area of Musigny. In 1986, the owner hired the renowned winemaker François Millet to oversee the estate’s operations, and he opted for minimal intervention during the winemaking process. Ignoring marketing trends that encourage the production of wines meant to be drunk young, François Millet instead seeks to get the most out of every harvest. Whether or not the vintage promises to be extraordinary, quality is always his priority. Through his methods, the winemaker has ensured the estate’s great success; today, it ranks among the most prestigious in Chambolle-Musigny. To maintain the high standard of production, the estate downgrades grapes from vineyards considered too young.
