Classificato Cinquième Grand Cru nel 1855, lo Château Haut-Bages Libéral è vicino dei prestigiosi Château Latour e Pichon e vanta uno splendido terroir che Alain Surtre ed Eric Boissenot. Le vigne sono coltivate con metodi biodinamici e si prediligono le vendemmie manuali per preservare il frutto. Gli acini sono selezionati e lasciati macerare prima della vinificazione, che avviene in contenitori inerti per evitare che il vino acquisisca aromi troppo legnosi. Il processo è effettuato quindi in vasche di acciaio inox termoregolate e il vino riposa in barrique di rovere, nuove per il 40% circa. La durata dell’invecchiamento dipende dall’annata e oscilla tra i 12 e i 18 mesi.
Alla degustazione scopriamo un vino intenso e scuro, dotato di un bouquet particolarmente ricco. Sentiremo delle note di frutti neri e di prugna, che introducono una struttura corposa e tannica. Questo vino ideale per l’invecchiamento svela la competenza nella viticoltura e nella vinificazione dei produttori e il grande prestigio del terroir di origine.
