The 2009 “Titolo” is born on the slopes of the extinct volcano Monte Vulture, in the Solagna del Titolo district (municipality of Barile, PZ) on volcanic soil rich in pozzolana, lapilli and clay.

The vines are old (often 45-70 years old) and the harvest is late and manual.

In the glass, it presents an intense ruby color, already tending towards garnet at the rim. On the nose, it explodes with a sequence of morello cherry, ripe plum, and blackcurrant, accompanied by more complex notes: oriental spices (cardamom, cloves), sweet tobacco, mentholated balms, a hint of graphite, and volcanic ash.

On the palate, it offers a full and harmonious structure: the attack is soft and enveloping, with well-defined yet silky tannins and an acidity that lends energy and vigor. The minerality of the terroir is evident, along with the savory flavor and persistence that leads to a long finish, with hints of ripe red fruit, sweet spice, and a hint of bitterness typical of the grape variety.

It is a wine that shows off its terroir at its best: elegant and austere at the same time, ready for further aging if stored well, but already enjoyable with a few more years under its belt.
