Tenuta Masi's Amarone della Valpolicella is a historic wine of great prestige, an authentic expression of Veronese winemaking tradition and the ancient appassimento technique. Produced at a time when winemaking was still highly artisanal, it represents one of the classic Amarones that contributed to Valpolicella's international fame.
A deep garnet color with amber highlights due to its long aging, it offers a complex and evolved bouquet with hints of cherries in alcohol, dried plums, figs, tobacco, leather, cocoa, sweet spices, and light balsamic notes. On the palate, it is warm, rich, and velvety, with a strong structure, soft tannins, and a long, aromatic finish characterized by dried fruit, spicy notes, and nuances of fine wood.
Historic vintages of long-aged Amarone wines are capable of maintaining balance and complexity even after many decades.
