The Barbaresco 1970 Cantine Santa Rita is a historic Piedmontese wine made from 100% Nebbiolo, produced at a time when many “Barbaresco” labels were bottled by commercial or social wineries in a still traditional style, and today these bottles are found almost exclusively at auctions or specialized markets.

The 1970 vintage in Barbaresco is generally considered interesting and with good evolutionary capacity and wines of this type, if well stored, tend today to develop very tertiary aromas such as leather, tobacco, sweet spices, undergrowth, ripe red fruit and ethereal notes with a colour now garnet-orange and a delicate but still complex structure.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
