The Barolo 1962 Terre del Barolo is a historic wine from the Langhe region, produced by the Terre del Barolo cooperative in the winery's early years, when the project was still very young (the cooperative was founded in 1958) and winemaking was closely linked to the area's rural traditions.

It is a Barolo made from pure Nebbiolo, vinified using classic techniques of the time: long fermentations, significant extraction, and aging in large oak barrels, with the aim of creating a wine that will evolve slowly rather than be immediately drinkable.

If the bottle has been well stored, it can present a very mature and complex profile with a garnet/orange color and aromas typical of extremely aged wines such as old leather, tobacco, undergrowth, dried mushrooms, earth, sweet spices and light oxidative notes that are part of its natural evolution.

I ordered three bottles, a 1999 French, recently opened, made a great impression.
The other two are a Barolo Serralunga d'Alba from Fontanafredda and a Nebbiolo d'Alba Riccheri from Marchesi di Barolo, both from 2015, which I have yet to open but the prospects are excellent.
Shipping and packaging were equally excellent, the Marchesi di Barolo bottle was longer and protruding but I still managed to protect it.
Great prices that you won't find on other similar sites.
I will definitely be back to buy more.
